Nice to hear Rock-n-Roll Activisim through Music!
I am very glad that I can still count on rock-n-roll to voice concern & care on current events and the world state of affairs in general. There are more of us out here that are praying & searching for peace, that are deeply worried about Mother Earth, that care and hurt for future generations. Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Eagles, Sheryl Crow & many others, keep telling the truth out there!! Awesome!
Love the CD & Jackson didn't let me down at all!
Roll Out the Drums for Jackson!
Always relevant - those reviewers who complain about his politics showing up in the record never knew him. Always a patriot - searching, wanting our country to be the best at everything, especially justice - Jackson wowed me with "Roll Out the Drums of War." It rocks and rolls and calls for change - isn't that what rock is about?? Love the high, almost falsetto voice on "The Arms of Night"; I don't remember him ever doing that before. "Going Down to Cuba" is a completely new sound for him, seemingly simple musically, but with a spare elegance of verse. Like most Browne albums, this one is best appreciated after a few listens, well worth the investment of
time

Time the Conqueror by Jackson Browne
This is by far the best music by Jackson...Albeit, I do skip over the political songs...It's a new sound with great backup singers...Just saw him in concert last month...Gotta love him.
Welcome Back
As a fan of JB's earlier albums (the stuff he did post-Lawyers always left me somewhat indifferent), I'm happy to report this is a superb comeback. No frills, no big-budget label dollars behind him. Just the man, his unaging voice, his sharp eye and his way with a melody. I've heard this three
time
s since I got it and find very little to quibble about (some of the production buries the acoustic guitars a tad but that's a very minor complaint). I especially loved Drums Of War which really reached me in a way few songs have in quite a long time. Nothing wrong here and long-time fans will definitely enjoy his return. In a year that's seen so many rock veterans resurface, Jackson Browne's presence is more than welcome!
