Very motivational book!
This book has a tremendous amount of practical information that can improve
your
health from day 1. It is also very motivational in its approach to healthy habits and making changes that could improve the quality of the rest of your
life
. Great book!
RealAge, RealAge, RealAge......and more RealAge
If the registered trademark "
RealAge
" mentioned countless times and often more than once in a single paragraph doesn't bother you, you'll love this book. In 13 well-organized chapters and 474 pages of the most understandable medical text ever written, the term "RealAge" is estimated to exist nearly 1000 times!
But "The RealAge Makeover" is worth every penny and provides fascinating details on how you can lower
your
RealAge and make you feel
years
younger than your RealAge by simply using the RealAge concepts described in the RealAge Makeover. Ooops! See what I mean? I can't get the phrase out of mind now. And since I now expect to live about 10 years longer than I would have, had I not read the book, I'll probably say "RealAge" another 2000-3000 times.

Too much "Fill"
The content is good but way too much "Fill". The meat of the book could be published in less than 1/3 of the pages of the book.
What About Mental Fitness?
Whenever I read books like this, it makes me think again that doctor's just don't get it - they ignore the "big picture" of their patient's health and focus on treating symptoms with just Western medicine. That's their business, of course. It's up to consumers to get educated, on that I agree. We can do a lot by keeping physically fit, but what about mental fitness? Whoever talks about that? We are an aging population and more needs to be done to prevent memory loss, etc. Rather than obsolete books, I find services like Agogus.com much more "up" on the holistic perspective.
