This Is the One to Get for Several Compelling Reasons
After I was introduced to the superiority and richness of loose-leaf
tea
over the much compromised and degraded tea bag format, I want on a quest to find the ultimate tea infuser. I tried a steel mesh ball, a mesh net that goes over the tea mug, and a French
Press
. I then opted for the glass and metal
Bodum
Assam
4-
Cup
Tea Press over the less expensive plastic one because the plastic might melt, might adversely affect flavor, and its filter holes were too big to filter all forms of loose tea. The Bodum Assam
4-Cup
Press proved superior in terms of its filter (no loose tea particles floating in the water), its heavy-duty construction, its dishwater-safe feature, and its ease of use. You can forget all the other methods for infusing tea. Get the Bodum.

A necessity for any tea lover
This is one of my favorite things in my kitchen. It is the perfect size for one person who wants more than one or two
cup
s of
tea
. It's nice looking and retains heat well (I wrap mine in a tea towel and it works just great) without being too hot to hold. The ONLY thing I would change about this is I wish the holes on the infuser part were a tiny bit smaller- some of my finer black teas sneak through sometimes, but nothing one of those strainer thingies can't help!
Almost Perfect
It is true that it is difficult to brew less than 2 mugs of
tea
in this tea
press
. And yes, a few tea leaves can get through the holes. But the simple concept, beautiful design and reasonable price make this a five star winner.

Bridal Shower Gift
I bought this as a gift and never opened it. I am sure she loved it since it was on her gift list.
Ok, not perfect
The basket needs to have finer holes because
tea
leaves find their way through, and you have to brew the whole thing because of the design. It's not possible to successfully brew just one
cup
. It is also not possible to remove the basket and use the carafe to brew using a tea bag, as the lid does not fit without the basket in place. Could use some design improvement. I don't think it is worth $25, maybe $15 at best. You're paying for the name.
