Very effective teaching tool

I grew up watching these on ABC during Saturday morning cartoons in the early/mid 70's. These are fun to watch and quite effective. The song themes like "A noun is a person, place, or thing" stick in your mind and speaking for myself they did make learning grammar a lot easier. Recommended for kids today or for anyone who was a kid in the mid 70's. Also, as with America Rock, dig that 70's cultural influence in these, like the Shaft/Superfly blaxploitation theme in the Verb segment :) They just don't make 'em like this anymore!

Genius!

I grew up watching Schoolhouse Rock on TV and I still watch on Saturday mornings. Anyway, I thought my 16-month old daughter would enjoy the catchy songs and the cartoon format. I figured it wasn't too early to start her learning from something besides the awful stuff on regular television. Anyway, I was right. I play it for her every day, and when she hears it she sits down and is glued to the set for half an hour. Of course I'm sitting there right along with her. Even now I love the songs and I was amazed that I remembered nearly all the words after twenty-something years! The writers and everyone involved with Schoolhouse Rock are truly geniuses!

Fantastic for any age!

Whether you're a kid, or an adult, you've got to see this video! Using humor and catchy musical tunes, it teaches about grammar, in a fun way. My class watched it, and we were all singing the songs for the rest of the week! We loved it.

Perfect video for English Classrooms!

I am an EFL teacher and I use this video extensively in my classes to teach the parts of speech. The kids love it and learn. I highly recommend it to anyone who has, or who works with children.

A Winner!

I am so glad that Schoolhouse Rock has released their clips on video. I grew up with Grammer Rock. I made a serious effort to watch it every Saturday morning.

Now I am a mother-to-be and cannot wait for the arrival of my child so that I can share the learning and entertainment that I experienced through Schoolhouse Rock.

I don't know who will view this video more - my husband and I or our child. It's so much fun!!!!
