The most used item in my kitchen

I have been looking for a blender/food processor/blending system that could hold up to the ingredients I put in my smoothies, and this one works like a charm, even when my ingredients include big chunks of nectarines or walnut halves. All of my smoothies have come out smooth, not chunky, and this is even replacing my Cuisinart mini-prep as go-to kitchen appliance of choice.

Other things I love about this blender:
- There's a locking mechanism that allows you to set it to blend and walk away.
- With the multiple blending cups, I never have to worry about having a clean one handy. I wash the blades by hand, but put the cups and lids in the top rack of the dishwasher.
- A screw-on cap is included, so I can take my smoothies with me if I don't have time to drink it at home.

Finally, my smoothie recipe (which I now consume every morning):
- 1 peach or nectarine, in big chunks
- handful of fresh blueberries, if available (otherwise, frozen)
- handful of fresh raspberries
- 1/3 c. lowfat cottage cheese
- 1/3 c. plain lowfat yogurt
- 5-10 walnut halves

I kind of have a bad habit of killing blenders. so far 2 have died this year. then I came across this. generally speaking my blenders die because I overload them, but I like thick smoothies! I can't help it! anyway, this works like a charm. last night I even made strawberry-vanilla "ice cream" w/ a cup of soy milk and 1.5c frozen strawberries. it came out thick just like ice cream and tasted so good. this little blender tolerated that like it was nothing. I use it several times a day to make smoothies for me and my boyfriend and I LOVE that it comes w/ multiple cups because I'm not always johnny-on-the-spot about dish washing. I couldn't be happier!

I like it!

I disagree with previous ratings. I've had a very good experience with it. I love this blender. I received it as a gift. I thought it was pretty easy to use. I use it almost every day since the holidays, and it still breaks up ice and frozen fruit perfectly (unlike other blenders I've had that leave pieces of ice floating somewhere in my smoothie no matter how long I blend it). I really like that it's easy to clean and it is also convenient. If i'm on the run, I can just blend it, put a lid on it and take it with me wherever I'm running to. I am pretty happy with it, so I am buying one for my parents to replace their old one.

Great blender but fell apart way too fast.

I've already posted a couple of comments, but just wanted to rate the item. I love everything about it except that it didn't last long. After only 3 months of regular (2-3x week and daily for the past week)use, the base (black part with blade) cracked in half. Also, the caps are difficult to screw on.

I love it ... but it's not built to last.

I love this thing, but I have to admit it is cheaply made. I use it to make smoothies and my husband uses it to make protein shakes, but after 3 months, the base that holds the blade cracked in half. Now I have to find something to replace it. Sure wish I could find the same thing but of better quality. The only other complaint I have is that the lids are difficult to screw on. They don't line up properly.

Otherwise, the motor runs fine, it blends beautifully, it's easy to use (except for the lids), it's compact and it convenient. If you plan to use it on a regular basis - and for me that was 2-3x week - don't expect it to last very long.
