The New Rules of Posture

I am a movement teacher (certified Pilates, certified yoga, certified personal trainer, dance teacher). This book is a refreshing accessible book for all of my teachers and students. A wonderful conglomerate of wisdoms from different disciplines that speaks to everyday awareness. Thank you, Mary Bond, for sharing from your years of movement and bodyworking experience. A must read for all movement teachers.


Brilliant!

This wonderful, rich manual is far more than it sounds. It offers integrated, palpable core process understanding and practice that will work for anyone. The writing is relaxed, human and deeply knowledgable (I feel her background not only as a Rolfer but as dancer) - grace throughout. The information is fundamental for all movement (and sitting!) An essential book.

This book is terrific!

A thorough, and also fun, approach - beautiful writing and illustrations. Applying the information and practices is a pleasure. Dance artists and students alike respond with curiosity and pleasure, gaining insight, depth and ease in their movement.


Important Reading

This is a very important book for everyone to read. It is written for the average layman so we can all understand. With correct posture you can help so many aches and pains and improve organ function. Really important book.


Great reference on posture and movement

This book is truly a marvel! It is very informative and pushed me to rethink the way I stand, sit, move, breath, etc. with my body.

The practical exercises are the best part. You don't just read the information -- you can then practice and do things that will help you actually understand and live the principles.

The only thing that I question is the author's view that "reverse breathing" is bad for your health. Reverse breathing when done correctly is actually very health for you -- this is the breathing cycle that Taoists and Tai Chi Chuan practitioners utilize.
