Highly Reccomended!
Peter Senge provides a well organized analysis and discussion of 5 techniques and "
discipline
s" necessary for a successful
organization
. This is a highly recommended read for managers and those wishing to advance and build their organization. Peter Senge helps the reader understand how to build a successful
learning
organization using clear and everyday examples that are easy to understand. He st
art
s by explaining the four proposed disciplines necessary to grasping his final and most important discipline, "Systems Thinking." While reading the book, many ideas Senge puts forward seem like common sense. However, as the saying goes, "common sense isn't so common" rings true here. Peter Senge shows that most people are unaware of these seemingly obvious ideas and disciplines proved in his many years of research. Everyone could learn a thing or two from this book and should try and read it if at all possible!

The Fifth Discipline Review
In the the area of leadership theory, Peter Senge has laid down what we all have the possibility to feel. Those little moments where you feel your intuition kick in, that little voice that drives you or motivates you is what Senge has established as a mastered principle, along with the theory behinds its unparalled influence. The
Fifth
Discipline
is the work of those forces that drives people. People make up
organization
s. People committed to continuos
learning
make up learning organizations.
By digging into this book, anyone can understand the five disciplines that human beings have the opportunity to own. More importantly, the five disciplines; personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, team learning and systems thinking, are principles in which all people can agree with, strive to achieve and analyze.

I will recommend this book to several managers. I encourage student to read it, and if you really don't like to read (I don't) just buy the CD version.
