Wonderful, Tasty Recipes!
I have been looking for a cook book that would offer gr
eat
recipe ideas and have ingredients that I could find in a regular grocery store. I found it all in this wonderful book! Apart
from
the fantastic selection of
recipes
, you will find plenty of practical information and quirky bits of trivia that just makes this book fun to use!
I have had the book for a couple of weeks now and already I have gone through most recipes - they have all been a hit, even with my picky kids. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys
food
but cannot spend all day looking for ingredients and cooking. You'll find the recipes easy to follow and the results spectacular!

one of the best
I have been reading cook books and cooking for over 63 years - this book is filled with fresh new cooking tips and
recipes
. I am still learning. Usually, after purchasing a cookbook, I am disappointed and, if I am lucky find maybe one good recipe.
a true winner
a true winner...typefaces are kinda hard to decipher, but contents will appeal to all good homecooks.
Yum
This is a cookbook that reads more like a novel then a list of ingredients. Its a wonderful and fun concept. The
recipes
are gr
eat
. I'll never buy salad dressings again after seeing
how
easy they are to make.
Lots of Great Stuff, but overproduced
I am a regular listener to The
Splendid
Table
, have been for quite a few years. I have also cooked out of Lynne's original book, The Splendid Table. I bought this cookbook after hearing her do the 450 degree oven bit on the s
how
.
There are a lot of nice
recipes
and good information in the book, but I can't recommend it. It is very overproduced. There has to be at least one text box per page. The hints aren't given enough context. It is sort of like listening to the
show
but WITHOUT all the gr
eat
depth of knowledge that you get out of the interviews. The references to stuff learned on the show seem to be very surface.
Sorry Lynne, but that's my view.
