Joining Hands and Hearts: More than Practical

I am an event planner who deals with brides and grooms everyday from every culture and religion. This book has been helpful for me as a planner as well as the many couples who marry. This is more than a practical guide but a journey into many different ways of approaching cultures and religions. It has given me great insight into helping couples throught a very happy and at times a very stressful event. BRAVO...finally a how to guide that WORKS...

HALLELUJAH ! A literary gift from heaven.

An absolute masterpiece! A book written with love, respect and understanding. This book gave me the courage to announce to the world that- YES! I am marrying out of my faith-and I am HAPPY and NOT ashamed! My fiance and I are of different faiths but with this book we have the beautiful spirit of interfaith joining our hearts and souls.

Rev. Stefanachi Macomb must have a soul truly touched by God, she writes with such a soothing, spiritual sense that, as you read- you feel as if she is holding your hand and reading the book to you.
A definite must have! Not only for those who are in an intercultural or interfaith relationship, but for family members, friends or just anyone that loves to love.
A book that will truly warm your heart, touch the inner-most parts of your soul and make you sing and believe in angels.

Reverend Mccomb's gentle and colorful words of wisdom of how to incorporate all aspects of cultural traditions are enormously insightful and helpful for those of us planning an interfaith intercultural wedding celebration. My fiancee and I are so very lucky to have found her book and the opportunity to meet her personnally. The 'menu' within the book is fabulous...so many choices to personalize ceremonies...something for everyone. Those planning a same religion, non-relgious or spiritual ceremony should read this book. It has so--- much to offer. You'll be much more prepared with ideas, suggestions and readings when you meet your officiate - becuase your ceremony should be personalized...here is how to do it in an interesting and different way. On a personal note, Susanna's awareness of all different religions and languages are amazing. She makes you feel very comfortable, takes you on a marvelous journey of remembrance of how you fell in love and helps you to make the 'harder' decisions about expressing your feelings out loud (especially for the men!) All that...and at the end...if you happen to have her officiate your wedding she weaves a wonderful message for all the angles around you to hear !

We are an interfaith, intercultural couple...and throughly enjoy reading and re-reading Reverend McComb's book together. Her saying of "Two cultures. Twice blessed" shows you the kind of heart she has...everyone is included and has something to offer. It is the kind of book you can't put down.

Joining hands and hearts...is an inspiration to our entire immediate family and many friends. We wanted a truly different and unique celebration of love, and we found all the elements - and terrific readings within the book. The "menu of ceremonials" Reverend Mccomb provides within her book are marvelous (some may even bring a tear to your eye). Her ideas are easy to understand, useful to implement. Through the stories of happily married couples highlighted within the book, the Reverend shares her experiences and those of her lucky couples as they take the planning steps and final vows.

Regardless of whether or not you are having a religious, non-religion or spiritual celebration this book is one that you MUST read. The journey you embark on by reading is wonderful. The inclusiveness, the openess and the process that Reverend Mccomb gets you to focus on up through the actual ceremony helps you to understand what makes you a special couple and gives you all the confidence you may/may not need to announce to the world you are in LOVE and it is OKAY (its very enlightening, revealing and fun...even for the grooms !)

A gift in this troubled world.

Besides the warm insightfulness and the human stories, to me, the most important part of this book was the author's sharing of rituals and their symbolisms from so many cultures and faiths. In this way, it serves as an important sourcebook, a bridge that reminds us of our connection to one another, especially in our search for meaning.

This book teaches us to keep our hearts open. It is a gift in this troubled world!
