Awesome book!

This is the best book I have had for little guys. All of my children LOVED saying the color of each of the cars! It's definitely a pre-reading book, or just learning-to-read. I would recommend it for toddlers through preschool. They have short attention spans and long books are not always the best choice. This book offer vivid illustrations, easy to remember verse, and best of all teaches colors.
FIVE STARS!!!

Trains/Colors/Learn Spanish: its all here

Trying to help our child learn Spanish (Abuela will be so happy!)... he loves trains and has most of his colors down and now also with the help of this book, can go back and forth between English and Spanish color naming. Great book especially as the English and Spanish text are both right there. Most times we pick one language to read in and alternate to the other language the next time we read... Child loves this book and we are re-learning our Spanish too! Un Libro Muy Bien!

Fun book for learning colors

My two year old is totally into trains so this book is very popular with him. I wanted a book that he would want to read that would help us teach him colors and this book is perfect for that. We take turns pointing to the colors and saying their names and I have been amazed at how well he has learned his colors. He also loves saying the last two pages with us, "Going, going...gone." On those days and nights when he is fighting bedtime or naptime by refusing to let us do the story time routine, this book (and Donald Crews' other book "Truck") almost always bring him around.

Great buy!!

This book is a wonderful addition to anyone who has a library of young chidlren's books. It is written in both English and Spanish, and is a favorite of all young children. The text is simple and effective in teaching concepts of print to young children. The colors of each train car are vivid and eye-catching. The Spanish text is also simple and allows children to explore another language with a familiar story. A must-have!

Multiple lessons in one book!

This well-illustrated, simply written book encompasses several lessons in one--colors, train cars, and physics displayed in pictures of the moving freight train. The words have a steady tempo that keep a young listener's attention while capturing his gaze with the detailed pictures of each train car and its associated words painted in a different shade of the rainbow--making it easier to learn your colors. A timeless classic that your child will continue to enjoy again and again.
