The computer you need

Solid little laptot, netbook, sublaptop, or what ever you want to call it. This is not for heavy duty gaming or number crunching, but if you want something that is light weight for traveling to surf the net, check email, or create a word/excel then this product is for you. Battery life is great, about 5 hours and 30 minutes in power saving mode and 3-4 hours in high performance (normal) mode. Start up and shut down time is about 30 seconds which makes this great for quickly checking one's email. Overall, this netbook does what it is made for very well, web surfing.

Drop the heavy Laptop and Pick up an Eee Netbook.

If you're looking for a laptop with a built-in CD/DVD drive look elsewhere. If you can live without such a feature because you use the web and SD cards then read on! I really enjoy this Netbook, it's battery lasts for 4 or 5 hours, the sound quality is good through headphones. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work well and the value for money is especially pleasing. I use it with a Sprint mobile broadband card and find I can work anywhere without carrying a cumbersome laptop around. All in all it's great. The one downside is the built-in speakers are too quiet.

This is Great!

Our son is globe trotting and selected this computer after a great deal of research. He loves, loves it. So, since we travel, are older and tired of the weight of our old laptop we got one too. Our favorite feature besides the size, weight and price is the built in camera and mic. We audio/visual Skype frequently and find this so easy to use.

A negative? Only one. The Shift key on the right is in the wrong place.

Works wonders.

I am amazed at how much battery life this has... I charge it like a cell phone at night when I am sleeping, and it lasts about 5-6 hours of straight work. One downside is that the speakers are not very loud, but that can be fixed with headphones, which I used anyways.

Great NETBook - But not Perfect.....

Please dont bash me on this...but I am a bit disappointed by this laptop for one simple and selfish reason....the RIGHT SHIFT key is way out of reach for someone that types regularly and types fast.

I bought this as a ultra-portable for traveling and for light duty email, work processing, internet, etc... It is in all aspects EXCELLENT for this type of function and MORE! The machine is FAST, quiet, has excellent battery life, and comes with just about everything a person would want in a laptop. The price is excellent.

The machine SCREAMS with 1gb RAM and I am sure that 2gb would make it scream a bit louder. For 37 bucks..it is worth it to upgrade to the 2gb.

Keyboard - Right Shift Key

The problem I have with this...and the reason it is getting 4 stars and not 5.. I type regularly and I type fast. I dont usually have to think about the shift key. However, on this laptop, I have to make sure that my right 'pinky' is reaching far enough to hit the shift. To me its a major annoyance and not something I can live with.

You may not have the issue I have..in which case this machine is a 5 star product.

Great Amazon service and shipping are, of course, the icing on the cake.
