A peculiar sort of fun

What you have hear is a giant glass teabag. Tea goes in the insert which is placed in the larger glass which is itself filled with very hot water. The cover is placed and you watch the essence of the tea move from leaf to liquid. Conversation stops: it's remarkably absorbing.
When the tea is done, you take off the cover and place it face up on the table. Then you remove the insert and place it on the cover. Now you can enjoy drinking your tea.
The fact of my matter is that you could also throw the tea out, the ritual itself is so satisfying. Cleanup is a bit juicier than many would want and if you have company, everyone will need their own.

Beautiful, Functional, but Breakable and Pricey.

My husband is a coffee and tea aficianado and is already a huge fan of Bodum's Pavina 2-Ounce Double-Wall Thermo Glasses (Espresso/Shot), Set of 2. When this little baby arrived in the mail, his eyes lit up.

Like Bodum's other insulated glasses, it's gorgeous and keeps its contents hot (or cold, for that matter). As others have reported, the infuser works beautifully for large-leafed loose teas and with a bit of leaf leakage for finely-leafed ones.

My main concern is its breakability-to-cost ratio. We lose an espresso cup (about an $8 investment) every few months-- they shatter into a thousand pieces if dropped or even bumped too roughly against our sink. If/when this infuser breaks, you'd be out three or four times that much. Ouch.

However, it'd be a beautiful, luxurious gift for a loose tea lover-- something they might not be willing to buy for themselves because of its delicacy.

Anxiety Provoking Tea Experience

I'm a huge fan of Bodum, as has been stated with reviews for other products of theirs. And while I'm perfectly satisfied with this Tea Infuser set, its very nature works against the benefits of the tea.

Lovely in design and generally functional, this clear glass set lives up to promises of keeping one's hands cool and doing an excellent job of diffusing tea.

However, the thin glass is a constant source of paranoia for me. Every time I've set it on my granite counter top the 'clink' makes me think it will simply shatter with impact. It hasn't, thankfully, but all the same it oddly provokes a hovering anxiety. This being said, it works against the soothing experience of tea drinking.

Small size isn't a problem for me, nor are loose tea particles, however if I'm going to slog around a cup of brew I don't want to think more about the container than the contents.

Nice infuser, not very large though

This is a cute infuser. Good looking, very elegant. Not a fine strainer, though, so you Twinings English (or Irish) Breakfast loose teas (my favorites) will go through, as they are pretty fine. It did a pretty good job with the large chop leaf and flower teas I drink. And the tea looked so pretty infusing. And I am very used to tea sneaking through filters by now.

The cup is double-walled, so you won't get burnt drinking from this cup. And it feels nice in my hand.

So here's what I didn't like: It's small. I wish it was a little larger capacity. I am going to look for one like this that is bigger. I just am used to a larger mug and am basically lazy. Also, this set is very fragile feeling. I couldn't find any care instructions (perhaps overlooked them before the box got tossed) and I am assuming dishwasher would be a no-no. It's very thin and would likely get etched by the dishwasher detergents. It's very light, which is a good thing, I suppose, but I am betting this little guy is going to break--most especially the strainer part, which looks even more fragile.

It's nice but I bet it's going to have a short life here, hence my rating.
