Samsung Touch of Color T260HD - Great TV

I received my T260HD the Friday before Christmas and have had continuous great viewing with not had one problem. And, I am not quite sure what all of the nitpicking is about by some other reviewers.

Specifically; the front touch button for on and off works as it should, the picture is outstanding, the remote is perfect; the set-up was so easy a child could do it,,just plug it in, put the cable in, turn it on and it searches for the channels and pulls then in(yes it takes awhile, so what, it's thinking!) and you have a perfect HDTV,,, oh, and the stand DOES tilt and swivel. Hopefully this sets the record straight.

Ok, the only CON is the sound. If you are using this as a TV only, as am I, you will find the on-board speakers horrid. But the reviews had forewarned me. So, I hooked up some Boston Acoustic computer speakers, with a subwoofer using the headphone jack and the sound is great. If you use a cable extension with an L plug and thin wire you can close the door and you will not even see its use. (This keeps the Aesthetics cool !) Of course using the headphone jack won't get you surround sound but it is still great stereo

My price was 499 then a 50 rebate which was as good a price as I could get before Christmas. It is completely worth it. I studied all of the various brands and options for over 4 months, really, and this is the best for the money for a 26 in 1080P and a Samsung. Amazon's packaging was great and delivery by UPS was its usual professional on time service. Hope some of this helps.

Great Monitor/TV

I purchased the T260HD to replace a 19" CRT TV in the bedroom. I am pleased with the compact design, it fits on the desk space much better.

The TV tuner is much more sensitive than the DTV converter used with the analog TV. I am able to get more "air" stations, in my weak signal location. The auto channel add worked well, however deleting undesired channels seemed to require more keystrokes than I expected. This is not a show stopper, since it is done once in the initial setup.

I have used both a desktop PC and a notebook for the monitor test. The desktop with video card was able to use the full 1920 x 1200 resolution, the notebook resulted in slightly limited the resolution. I have used both with a DSL connection to watch TV shows and movies on [...] with excellent results.

I recently purchased a LN40A500 Samsung TV for the living room, and found the operating features similar for both. This is a real plus after learning the remote control.

I am happy with my purchase, I recommend this product to others.

The best features of this product:

1. Great resolution 1920 x 1200.
2. Excellent connectivity with the video and analog options.

Quick take.... am happy with it as PC display (haven't tried it as a HD TV)

Just a quick note. Was in the market for a 24 inch display for my PC, ran across the Samsung SyncMaster T260HD at a local retailer, saw that it was 25.5 inches and included an HD TV tuner, took a quick look at the reviews and took a chance on it. Got it. Have had it hooked up for 24 hours, just using it as a computer display for regular web browsing and various FPS (first person shooter) games. Easy setup, looks excellent without any adjustments. I'm no expert.... and haven't had it long or tried it for TV, but I'm happy.

Great picture, nice features, tinny sound.

I bought this monitor to use primarily as a TV for my office. I have it hooked to a VZ FIOS HD set top box via HDMI, and I'm pleased as punch with the picture. I also have the RF input tied to an antenna. Broadcast HDTV looks terrific as well. For clarity, you just can't beat a small screen with high native (1920x1200) resolution.

Unfortunately, the built-in speakers are awful. The sound is tinny and there's no bass whatsoever. Not entirely unexpected given the monitor's physical size, but I've heard laptops that sound better. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend this monitor for use as a stand-alone TV.

I worked through my sound woes by adding a small home theater receiver and 5.1 speakers tied to the monitor via the optical SPDIF output. The optical output provides the sound from whichever input you're watching. I've got my DVD tied in via the component input, and I've also hooked up a PC. When I switch inputs on the monitor the sound follows, so I don't have to switch the receiver's sound input separately.

This monitor does not have a standard VESA mount. Samsung makes a bracket that slides in the bottom of the monitor at the same location as the included stand, model number WMB2400T. This adjustable mount provides up to about 15 degrees of downward tilt, and can be bolted directly to a wall or attached to a standard VESA 100x100 wall mount. I definitely wouldn't use the provided plastic wall anchors, despite Samsung's instructions. Either find a stud or use toggle bolts. This bracket worked out great for me, but as always, YMMV.
