Great, Tiny, Powerful and Inexpensive
Plenty has already been said of this
camera
- and it's a great purchase.
What I'd add is that it is very small - truly a pocket camera. It takes much better pictures than a
digital
camera only two years older. It's quick on startup and very quick on trigger-to-
shot
speed.
The entire camera is made much more intuitive by the visual explanations that appear on the display with each selection. This helps translate those little-used symbols into something you can actually learn and put to good use (like the low light setting, or smile mode that may otherwise get overlooked for the life of the camera).
The pictures taken with a flash are much improved over previous
Sony
s. Whether its software, sensor or flash, I don't know. But flash pictures are far more natural looking than previous models. They're not over or under-saturated.
In fact, this model is so intuitive and inexpensive, I sent one to a less-technical family member to replace an otherwise great Sony digital camera I recommended for them just 2 years earlier. I even got one for my wife and now use it more than my own because of its features, slimness and quick shutter speed.
Minor niggles: the otherwise simple and slim camera-to-USB cable has been replaced by a 'universal' cable that also includes video and audio plugs which makes the cable 3x thicker and more cumbersome than earlier models. Also - the rotating setting dial isn't indented far enough into the camera, so its easy to rub with your right hand when taking pictures which can bump the camera into another mode.
Be sure to get a good memory stick like the Sony 2 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (MSX-M2GS) (Retail Package) or the larger Sony 4 GB Memory Stick PRO DUO ( MSX-M4GS ) (Retail Package) both of which come with an adapter for card readers like the IOGear GFR281 56-in-1 Card Reader/Writer which is faster for transferring photos than a direct connection to the camera.
I also opted for the Sony NP-FG1 InfoLITHIUM Type G Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery Pack for Sony W & H Series Digital Cameras battery that provides a 'time left' display in the camera - something the standard battery that comes with the camera does not. And I decided against any soft case without room for memory cards and an extra battery and picked up the Kroo Camera case for Sony
Cybershot
DSC Model + Universal LCD Screen Protector Kit + CLOTH instead - which came with a bonus screen protector.

Nice camera, great pics, easy to use
I was specifically looking for a
camera
for my wife that was very easy to use. She has figured this out pretty quickly. When I wanted to set some advance features such as red-eye reduction and centering on the faces, I found it to take seconds to learn the interface.
Sony Cyber Shot W120
I just upgraded from the
Sony
Cyber
Shot
S60. The pros of this
camera
are the price, compact size, color selection, and smile shutter feature. The Cons of this camera are there is no trimming or cropping feature, which I use all the time, it uses a Sony battery instead of AA batteries, and it uses a Memory Stick Pro Duo. Honestly, I like my old one better, but I will get used to this one. This is a good point and shoot camera for a teenager or a beginner, I'm just missing my old Sony!

excelente camara
Es una excelente camara. Tiene un tiempo de respuesta muy bueno despues de haber tomado fotos usando el flash.
Sony Cybershot-Great camera / Bad Bundle
The
Sony
Cyber
shot
W-120 takes great pictures and is a wonderful first
camera
for our 17year old. The case that we received is not what is shown in the picture...it is
black
, trimmed in pink, with no way to attach it to her purse or belt loop. This does NOT come with the mini SD card (that is shown in the picture next to the memory stick) that you will need in order to take more than 5 pictures. So order one in addition to this so that you can use your camera right away. The camera charges quickly and is very easy to use right out of the box (except for the memory card ;p ). I would order this camera again, but NOT this bundle. Choose a case separately so that you know exactly what you'll be receiving.Sony Cyber-shot
