Grew up with Burda patterns

I have been surrounded by Burda patterns all my life. My mom was a very skilled tailor and dressmaker (and even though she could do any kind of pattern from scratch) she was, how can I say this.... addicted to Burda.
Apart from her business, both my sister and me must have worn almost all of those cute models throughout the years! My dolls were also tailored by Burda!
Mom retired many years ago as her sight deteriorated but she still keeps all her Burda magazines. Some of them as old as early 70's when it was not even translated (at least not to Spanish).
Despite having a passion for textiles I ended up in the IT business but even today I cannot walk by a Burda magazine without having a lengthy good look. Years after I left home I sneaked a few issues from mom's Burda collection, these are some summer issues that have wonderful patterns that withstand time. I keep these treasured issues safely in my home office.
Now-a-days I occasionally find time for sewing as a hobby or when I am really stressed out. I find it my best therapy, I grab a cup of good Costa Rican coffee and sit back with one of my favorite issues.
This year I am planning on getting the subscription as a Christmas present for myself and thereafter continue with a family tradition.
I cannot wait to get my first very own Burda! If you are into sewing professionally or as an amateur, I strongly recommend that you also try it out.

Burda's the Best

I highly recommend Burda magazines. The styles are fashionable and the fit is outstanding. I've found fashion elements in Burda patterns two seasons before they appear in US fashion magazines. I'm a beginner sewer, so getting over the pattern tracing and seam allowance addition were a bit of a challenge, but once I did, I found the patterns to be great.

the best ever

My family has been using this magazine for generations. I am a native European and this magazine is a legend over there. The patterns might be intimidating to use at first (whole magazine worth of patterns on few sheets of paper). The magazine always includes sawing tips and lessons, patterns for women (and sometimes men) all of shapes, sizes, and ages, and sometimes patterns for children. They used to have other crafts (especially for holidays) and recipes - not sure if the US edition has those.

good

Dear
I am very interste with fashion so I need any new looking and dreesing in the world with best wishes
thanks

great magazine but pay attention to sizing

I love the fashions with a European flare, but you must be able to adjust patterns as well as copy them! I'm 5'10 and the misses are sized for 5'7 and the plus sizes only go up to 5'3. This poses a bit of a challenge since I'm size 18 currently and cannot always add 7 inches to the height of a garment in the appropriate areas.
