Practical, respectul of parents and children
What I like most about this book is not its practicality (it's VERY practical --
you
can
do this stuff ASAP), but its underlying theme that dealing with sibling problems
help
s build
children
's self-worth. There's tons of great examples on
how
to get
your
kids to stop fighting -- what to say and how to say it in the right way. That's the practical part. But underneath everything is the fact that sibling
rivalry
can affect us well into adulthood and define who we are as people. The authors show us that helping
siblings
get along isn't just nice for our own peace and quiet, but that in the long term it helps our children feel confident and learn to creatively solve problems on their own.
There's also car
too
n examples that are easy to show/share with other caregivers who aren't reading the entire book.

Best Book EVER!!!
This book is priceless. All my friends who have a second child get a copy of this book. ****The trick to this book is to re-read it every 6 months.*** We all have a tendency to fall back into old habits. I always know when it is time to re-read it because my kids start fighting and getting on my nerves again. I stumbled across this book accidentally and it has made alll the difference in my life and my kids life. It won't solve all the problems
you
r kids have with each other but it takes you out of the loop so it doesn't bother you so much and they learn to deal with each other in a healthy way.

Great book, but harder than it seems!
These are the best books on parenting I have come across (this and '
How
to talk...'). It takes a lot of practice, but when I actually manage to follow its advice, I'm amazed at the results.
Great read
Very easy to read and well worth it no matter what
how
old
you
r kids are.
