ACROSS THE UNIVERSE

This a wonderful romp through a more peace filled time remembered. The music is wonderful. It's the Beatles. What more needs to be said. And the movie is so cute and sweet. In the struggles of every day life now, this movie brings back the gentleness and the victory our generation grew up on and the fact that "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE." It reminds us that if we can only pull together, we can accomplish anything. Afterall, we stopped a war and brought our people home. We could do it again if we united ourselves like we did back then.

Amazing renditions!

The singers and musicians really made the music theirs, but still kept with ideas The Beatles would do. There were a few songs I didn't like ("Hold Me Tight", "I Want to Hold Your Hand", and "It Won't Be Long") but everything else I adored. It was interesting to hear some soulful renditions of the songs. I was surprised and found that I liked one song better than The Beatles' original! Joe Anderson absolutely nailed "Happiness is a Warm Gun" - yes, he even topped The Beatles, and that is not something I say lightly. All around it was excellent! I highly recommend it!

Great gift idea!

My Dad really loved the film "Across the Universe" it seemed a pretty easy and obvious gift to buy him the soundtrack. He loved it +1 me!

Surpassing talents

I've been a Beatles fan for over 35 years. Though it seems almost sacrilegious to say so, some of these re-recordings are better than the originals.
