Mozart Lives!!

My initial goal was to listen to the complete set, start to finish, one time through. I began about 2 1/2 months ago, and I'm nearly 1/3 of the way through. I've heard the symphonies, concerti, serenades, divertimenti, & dances, with chamber music, sonatas, string ensembles, keyboard works, sacred works, concert arias, songs, canons & operas yet to come. This logical assembly makes concentrating easy. The recordings are flawless. The arrangements of those works with which I'm familiar occasionally contain different interpretations and that keeps it interesting. I only wish I'd stumbled upon this or a similar compilation years ago (had one existed). This complete set was a great present to myself. The very reasonable price only increases my satisfaction & pleasure.

A Great Gift

My father-in-law has quite a collection of classical music - on 33's! He loved this gift in cd form, which is better quality and he can take in his car.

Impressive

170 CDs for $120 is a great deal. I don't claim to be an expert on Classical recordings - only a fan - but these have all sounded beautiful to me so far. I like the period instrumentation although occasionally they sound a bit odd to my modern ear. (I have to admit that sometimes the harpsichord reminds me of Morticia Addams playing in the parlor).

Mozart's "Complete Works"

This is far and away the best buy in clasical music today. Although priced as a bargain, the collection maintains a high quality throughout. As each "new" work by this inexhaustible composer is discovered, it seems unlikely that any collection will ever be complete. However, this one is nearly so, and it is a delight to listen to.

not an expert but I like listening to these; and the price is right

I keep the box of CDs in my car, and pick one at random to listen to when traveling. So far I have been pleased with the quality of the performances. For the price ($.65 per CD?), I think they are hard to beat. After listening to this set, I bought the similar set of Bach works, but I haven't started listening to that yet.
