A must have smoker accessory

The days of standing around your smoke pit all day, monitoring food are over. This handy remote thermometer allows you to continue your yard work, house work, or any other duties in and around the house while smoking your favorite food. I've been using mine for over six months now without a single problem.

I've found the probes to be highly accurate and the unit itself very user friendly. One of the reviews mentioned that you cannot change the temperatures for the different meat settings. That is inaccurate, you most certainly can change the temps. For instance, I like to remove turkey breasts from my smoker at 160-165 degrees, because they will continue to cook while resting. I can set my thermometer on poultry and adjust the factory setting of 180 degrees to 160-165 degrees.

Remote wireless thermometer saves the day!

I love to barbeque all year long, even when the snow is swirling here in Michigan. I ordered the ET-7 just before Thanksgiving and it arrived at about 12:30 p.m. on the Friday after Thanksgiving, just after I put a pork roast on the grill for my family gathering. Watching the temperature rise without going out into the cold was a wonderful benefit. The unit worked flawlessly, and easily. Looking forward to using it again soon. /tom

Worked Great, Really Handy

I didn't have the problem that some have had with being to far away to transmit.
But then again, my grill isn't that far out of my back door.
This worked great to determine the temperature of the meat (I used it with tri-tip, pork and fillet mignon)
Usually I order medium rare, but that was way to rare for my taste. Medium to Medium well was perfect though.
It is great being able to check multiple pieces of meat or different parts of the meat to make sure it is done that way that you like it.

NOT TOOO BAD...BUT

This unit works well within certain limitations. It has all the "doneness" temps pre programmed and you cannot change them. Poultry is cooked to 180 wether you like it or not. I use the beef setting to get my preferred doneness of 160.
The probe doesnt last long, I've had mine for a couple years now and am on the 3d probe. You have to order them from the manufacturer and are not covered under warrenty for some reason. At $10 a pop plus shipping, it makes this unit fairly expensive. If I was sure I was getting something better I would try another brand but all the wireless ones seem to have one problem or another. This one is ok, not great, but ok.
