Swaddling Without the Hassles & "Brain Surgery" involved
I got this as a present (one of her presents) from a close friend who has 3 kids - wow, does she know about 'new mom can't-live-without items' !
Swaddling newborns really helps calm them & put them to sleep - I used to think that the practice is an old wives tale or something because I thought it would make babies uncomfortable (hello:straightjacket?). However, it does make a big difference & helps them sleep through the night.
I laud the inventor of this infant wrap. Why didn't anyone think of this when I had my first child over a decade ago? It used to take several minutes for me to swaddle my baby using a regular blanket (& it always looked sloppy since I'm not very good at it), but with this wrap, it only takes seconds. If you're a new mom, you know how precious time can be, and every minute you save doing anything is a lifesaver.
I'm not sure what size I have, but I still use it on my 4 month old baby (who's in the 75th percentile when it comes to size) - although I can't wrap her shoulders with it anymore, so I only use it as a cover up for her lower body when she gets cold. I think she started disliking being swaddled by the time she got to 3 mos, so the age range recommendation is just right. It looks a bit ratty now because we've used & washed it so frequently.
Go ahead, buy this for yourself or for that new mom on your gift list. After all, what do you have to lose but $10 for this million-dollar invention

Works like a charm
My husband & I became pro-swaddlers with receiving blankets, so we didn't think we'd even need this, especially since our baby girl was born in June. But even though summer in California should be warm enough to not need fleece, the fleece really worked perfectly for a tiny baby that always seemed to be cold. Believe me, they want the warmth! And it was great to use if we were in a hurry to swaddle her, or if we wanted to pick her up and didn't want the blankets to come undone. It's also great when they are 2-3 months old and want to kick their legs free (you can swaddle them tight up top and leave the legs loose in the bag). I will definitely be using this again for my next baby.

Great!!!!
I bought this for my newborn granddaughter "sight unseen". It's soft, warm, and works perfectly with the velcro closures. She also has some receiving blankets but hasn't used them at all for swaddling because this item works so well and is so convenient.
SLEEEEEP BABY SLEEEEEP!
The
Swaddleme
is sleep magic! My newborn son was born early and feels comfort being held or swaddled. He is able to push and kick away a regular blanket swaddle, so I thought I'd give this a try. It is a Godsend! He sleeps so soundly. The
microfleece
is the softest, it's like he's sleeping in a cloud. He looks so content and peaceful all cuddled up. The velcro is in just the right place for a nice snug fit. I am buying this as a gift for all my friends having babies.

Buy the gingham instead!
I *LOVE* this product. It's a far better velcro swaddler than the other brands because it uses bigger patches of velcro. In comparison to a blanket, this is much easier to use and provides much more durable swaddles. I'm quite good with a blanket, but by six weeks of age, my son could wriggle out. On the other hand, at three months, he's never wriggled out of the cotton flannel
Swaddleme
.
However, even in cold weather, the
microfleece
is too hot. Several times I've felt under the blanket to find my son sweaty. It's even worse when we combine the swaddle with a sling. On the other hand, the cotton knit (solid colors) blankets are too stretchy - my son quickly converts his knit Swaddleme into a toga, leaving both arms flying free. The cotton flannel (gingham prints) has less stretch than the other two fabrics, and plenty enough cover to keep a baby warm at indoor temperatures. It is trickier to find, but worth the search.
The microfleece Swaddleme does, however, make a great non-swaddle blanket on cold days, particularly when the baby is in a front carrier. The velcro is quite versatile.
