Probably great, but excerpt from larger book
This is probably a very, very good book. However, it turns out that this is simply one-half of the authors' book "Economics" and, currently, the complete book seems to sell for about the same price as this one piece of it! So, be economical -- buy "Economics" instead.

A great reference to hold onto
Anyone who is concidering a future in Psychology must pick up a copy of this book. As many books are there for General Psychology this one has got to be one the best written and descriptive books I have ever read. The chapters are carefully broken up into consecutive ...

Review: Seigler --- How Children Develop, First Edition
I teach child psychology with this book, at a college. The book is topically arranged (not chronologically arranged), and, overall, the writing is excellent. Two chapters (Ch 12: The Family) and Ch. 13 (Peers) are not taught in my course; instead, students do chapter ...
Abnormal Psychology
Ronald J. Comer

Very good and clear book
This was one of my favorite classes in college and this book was very supplemental to my professor's lectures. The text was very clear and there were really good examples to help get the point across. It was nice because it was very concise and to the point.

Macroeconomics

can I shed some light?
If you're confused about all the different Mankiw Macroeconomics texts floating about out there, lemme set you straight. The one you see on this page: "Macroeconomics" (ISBN 0716762137) is usually used in 2nd or 3rd year macroeconomics courses in college. This is ...
Psychology
David G. Myers

for 101, it's a 100.
This is a fantastic General Psych, Psych 101, or AP Psych textbook. My experience with it gave me the notion that this might just be the best Gen Psych textbook available. I got a 5 on the AP exam using this book, but more importantly, i learned so much from it, i ...
Psychology, Eighth Edition, in Modules

Ideal Text
David Myers has done something incredible: written a near perfect textbook that can be used both at the AP and university level. Obsessively up to date, and an occasional quip so you can have a laugh. The book is balanced with physiological explanations as well as ...

Psychology
Peter O. Gray
Worth Publishers, 2006
Best Psychology Textbook
As an Intro Psych instructor, I reviewed dozens of psychology texts. Gray's "Psychology" is clearly the best. First, because it is written by a single author, it maintains a consistent style and viewpoint throughout--that is, the application of evolutionary biology ...
Exploring Psychology, Seventh Edition, In Modules
David G. Myers

Awesome for intro. to psychology
It seems that many other books in psychology do not offer information in such a broad and defined view to the wide content that creates Psychology as a science. I would recommend this book to someone instead of the For Dummies or Complete Idiots Guide series. The logic ...
Race, Class, and Gender in the United States
Paula S. Rothenberg
Worth Publishers, 2006
Looking inwards...
The "RCG" text edited by Rothenberg is truly a gem. It offers a myriad of perspectives from all Americans not just those with doctorate degrees or trapped in their ivory towers. I have used the text for my courses and have not had one student indicate that it was a ...
The Development of Children

By far one of my counseling textbook favorites.
Cole & Cole's work is by far one of my favorite textbooks. The reason? The authors methodically lay out child development from a biopsychosocial perspective, which is no small feat. They write with a thoroughness and efficiency that you will rarely find in a textbook. ...
