Europe by Eurorail 2008
Its a facinating overview of the European rail system from Norway to Italy and Portugual to the Balkans. I've ridden on part of the rail system from Avignon to Paris on a TGV Train. They have a great system in Europe. It would be great to have a similar system here.

Not Comprehensive
I was a little disappointed with this guidebook. However, I could see that this book was meant for a different audience. My basic plan was to use long-distance trains for travel between major European cities. This book doesn't cover that type of travel. The aim of ...

My mistake
I suppose it's not entirely fair to rate a book in part on one's own misperceptions, but, I'm going to anyways. When I initially bought this book I thought it was going to be a comprehensive analysis of traveling Europe by Eurail (I was preparing for a 20 day ...

invaluable
On our trip to London we decided to avoid guided tours and go it on our own using the subways and trains. This book had all the information we needed - what stations to leave from for the different destinations, train schedules, how much tickets cost, and brief ...

Not interesting
Well I purchased this book along with some other travel guides including "lets go Europe" and just looking at it made me board. I traveled Europe for 3 months from London to Istanbul and I found this book of little use or interest. I think it might have to do with the ...

Got to big and too heavy.
I truly enjoyed and constantly used the 16th edition, 1996-97. I used it constantly, and it never let me down. The discriptions of areas to see were lucid and enjoyable. Never missed a train, and only bought the newer edition in case the time tables had changed. ...

Almost useless.
After going to Europe for five weeks, and travelling to Pamplona (Spain), Bilboa (Spain), Lille (France), Venice (Italy), Geneva (Switzerland), all from Paris train stations, I found that this book was a good place to hold my Eurorail tickets rather than any of the ...
